Two Favorite Shots from St. Michaels, Fuji Provia 4×5 Slide Film

It always seems like I take too many pictures when we are in St. Michaels. It’s such a dear and photogenic place that I end up shooting roll after roll of film. So, for our latest weekend trip to St. Michaels I decided to limit myself to my 4×5 large format camera and a bagful of film holders. I loaded my 10 film holders with Fuji Provia 100 slide film, which meant I could only take 20 photos for the whole weekend.

I did use all 10 film holders, but I like the way it limited me to essentially one afternoon shoot and a pre-dawn photo run along US 50. That allowed me to spend the rest of the time goofing off and enjoying the weekend.

I just got my slides back this afternoon, but I’ve identified my two favorite shots from the weekend. The first is from a used boat dealership (American Outboard) on Hwy 50 East and the second is the Traveler’s Rest Road sign on St. Michaels Road.

Both photos were taken with the Toyo 45AII 4×5 field camera and Schneider 210mm f5.6 lens.

    Beautiful shots Shawn.
I really enjoy the Traveler’s nest one, it’s very often we pass things on the road but rarely stop to take it in.

I like the lighting and the sign post with all the names especially!
